vertical 一般是指同地平线/水平线（horizontal）垂直。
Perpendicular 是垂直线，它本身并不一定同水平线垂直，而是同某一条线或某一平面垂直。
erect是指在安装设备或建筑工程中把某种东西竖起来，所以有时也翻译成安装。

1）perpendicular 一般在使用时后面多数跟着介词 to,表达 "和XX" 垂直,或“构成直角”这样的描述
